This is the first pair of snowshoes, and the first time snowshoeing. The only comparison I have is my husband has a pair of Crescent Moon snowshoes. The Tubbs binding is not as easy to do as the Cresent Moons, they just have one strap to pull the to binding tight and and another to loosen, and the heel has a ratchet buckle, so my husband is always ready to go before I am! Maybe I am just not as flexible as I used to be but I have a hard time getting the heel strap tight and then trying to get the buckle to close on a hole, usually takes a couple of tries. They seem to scratch easy. After the second trip I noticed that the paint on the frame had scratches, and I some how managed to get some scratches on the webbing on the toe. One thing I did notice on our last excursion, it was kind of warm out and the snow was a little sticky, my husbands Crescent Moons were holding on to a lot of snow under the shoe, where the Crescent Moons had very little. I was able to wear them about 6-7 times before the snow melted away, and we blaze our own trails, go through woods/brush etc, so far other than the scratches I haven't had any other issues.
