I've had this coat for about 2 months. This is a great coat. It's warm -- I walk a few miles a day in Minneapolis and it does the job. The fabric is durable and wicks water away well. I have worn it on some winter hiking through the forest and it has yet to get ripped. I also don't think I've lost a feather yet. The zipper seems durable, opens both ways, and is plastic (my last 2 coats have died from zipper failure rip). I actually had the bottom zipper pull fall off due to an accident and it popped right back on (...yes, I have horrible luck with zippers!) The sleeves work well and don't have any updrafts. The pockets are fleece lined and zip shut. I was a bit worried about the color, but in person it is a very tasteful deep red wine color that is definitely not as shiny or bright.I do have a few issues:- The sizing is a little weird on me. I saw that some other people recommended the coat for pear-shaped ladies. I am in this camp but found that the arms and bust fit great and the hips fit great but there is a lot of extra fabric in the midsection. If I bend over or am moving around it kind of bulges in an unflattering way with the extra room there. I think a size down would have been too tight in the shoulders. I am used to coats that cinch at the waist, so i don't know maybe I'm just getting used to a new shape. Sometimes I do feel like it's a bit unflattering though -- makes me look larger than I am (more than any large puffy coat).- The hood doesn't work for me. The shape is kind of weird and that would be fine if it would stay on my head but it doesn't. I've tried lots of different hats on under it to try to give it more to latch onto and it just won't really stay on my head unless I hold it. There is no way to cinch it or make it fit better. This is a critical issue for me as a hood can help keep in so much warmth when outside for long periods of time or when it's windy!- Similarly, I find the front doesn't come up far enough to cover my face, but zips just up to the chin. My last few coats could zip up to cover my nose and mouth and I find myself really missing that feature. This is an issue in general, but especially in tandem with the hood. If I try to pull the front up further it pulls the hood further back.- The material seems to pick up little stains easily from brushing up against things, dirty hands, etc. I think it's sensitive to oils. These stains come off easily with soap and water, but I don't remember having to worry about that as much with other coats.Despite these issues it is a nice, high quality coat. It is very warm, but the fact that my face and head is cold means it is not a perfect coat for me and I will likely be searching for a new coat next winter since I am outside a lot.I love this coat! I was just asked to answer a question about the temperature rating for it. Although I don't know the actual temperature ratings for this coat, I can share my personal experiences. I've had it for 2 winters in SW Montana. I can really only wear it when it is pretty cold out, otherwise it is too warm! I recently attended an event outside for 2 hours with a slight wind in below freezing temps (20's) and I was very comfortable the whole time. I've been very comfortable in it in -1 to 10 degree weather while running errands but wasn't spending a lot of time outside. I have no doubt it would stand up well for longer periods of time in those temps too. I've worn it in a drizzle and it kept me dry and warm but I haven't been in it during a harder rain. It is very windy where I live and it seems to block the wind very well too.I'm 5'6", about 160lbs, and pear shaped. I have a large. The medium fit well but the large did as well and I figured I would need more space for sweaters and other layers. I'm glad I got the large. There didn't seem to be a big difference between the sizes. I have wide hips so I have issues with getting a coat that will zip shut at the hips but not be too big up above. Because of how this coat is fitted, I do not have this issue.Every time I wear it, I say how glad I am that I got it! Definitely worth the price.I love the fit of this jacket. I have a pear shape figure and love to wear dresses. This fits like a dress. My son called it a jacket dress. I'm also short and was worried this might be too long on me. It is not. It's a perfect length. I agree with some of the other reviews. The photo makes this coat look shinny. It's not as bright as in the pictures. It's a really nice color jacket. If your thinking about buying this jacket I would recommend it. It feels really warm and insulated. I'm really happy with this purchase.I really love this coat. I originally only gave it three stars because I didn't care for the fit because I felt that it was unflattering in the chest area due to the three pleats in front and that may be partially still true BUT it is so lightweight and so warm for how light it is that I don't even care anymore. Despite the three pleats I think it's pretty cute and I feel a lot more fashionable in this coat then I do in some of the warmer coats I own. If you have a chance buy it and possibly love it. Also yes the hood is a little odd. It is stuffed with down so you look like an Saturday night live cone-head when you put it up but I personally love this coat so much I don't even care. Great f'in coat.Very happy with my Jacket. Lovely colour and fit. Process with Amazon was fantastic, speedy delivery to Australia. Thank you.The jacket is warm and pretty and I would have given it a 5 star except that the hood sucks! It just doesn't stay up. So if its raining or snowing, you're out of luckPerfect jacket! Great color, flattering cut, nice and warm.
