Best purchase I have made in awhile. I was terrified after reading the other reviews that I would end up with gigantic boots and even more terrified when the box showed up and it was twice the size of a shoe box. That being said, yes, they are a BIG boot! The bottoms are duck boots, which are always tend to run on the wider/roomier side. I wear an 8 1/2-9, purchased a 9 and although I think I could probably have gotten a half size smaller, I am totally okay with the size I purchased. I could wear thick socks with them, but I don't own any, so I don't. LolSome people said that they are clunky and hard to drive in, but I would compare them to rain boots. If you've ever worn rain boots, they tend to be roomy and big and slightly unnatural when you first start wearing them. But the ankles have ties so you can tie them up tighter if need be.These are work boots. I bought them to wear to an animal shelter and to clear out feet of snow because I have to park on the street and the plows are merciless. They are exactly what I needed!! They are completely waterproof and keep my legs soooo warm! But these are not "running around the mall boots". These are meant to get dirty, wet, snowy and muddy! Oh! And they do clean up super easy. I just hose them off and they're good as new. I've had them about a month so far and I love them! I wear them daily for the shelter and if weather permits, the rest of the day. I generally have no problems wearing them even for daily errands, but I could see if someone is looking for an 'everyday' type boot, this may not be for them. Only disappointment, not slip resistant. Which I DID KNOW, but if they were, I would give them a six out of five!
